Capricorn Fonderia Srl is a shell aluminium foundry in Modena. Aluminum shell casting is a casting process that takes place by casting inside permanent metal shapes, called “shells” for the mass production of castings in aluminum, copper or cast iron, which have a relatively simple conformation and modest dimensions.
The design of the shape, the realization of which involves much greater costs than the disposable analogue, provides a pouring channel and several small vent channels, to eliminate the quantity of gas that remains trapped in the jet at high temperatures.
Our company is able to give adequate support to its customers in the design of the mold or shell, in the choice of the alloy based on the mechanical characteristics of the casting and in all those operations of finishing, sandblasting, temperature, up to assembly or assembly.
Shell Aluminium Casting
In the casting of aluminum in shell to avoid that the piece and the shape come together in a single block, a special insulating varnish is often used. Subsequently the casting of the liquid metal introduced by gravitational force or under pressure (die casting), the piece is left to cool and solidify, before being removed.
With the aluminum shell castings we are able to provide high-performance products thanks to:
fully automated production process;
implants with frontal and lateral casting;
ejection / extraction cylinders on left and right head;
long experience in the sector.
